My Story
At a young age, I knew I was meant to create. Whether it was building sand castles at my childhood home or carving blocks of wood with a Swiss army knife, my desire to be creative was evident. Growing up, I drew countless renditions of home additions, renovations, and landscape concepts for my home in rural North Carolina. While none of those designs were ever implemented, it entrenched the yearning to develop beautiful and practical solutions.
I studied Civil Engineering at North Carolina State University. After graduation, I worked full time as a civil engineer at a private consulting firm. I value the experiences and knowledge gained during that time. In 2014, I took on my first design, a guest house. Much like my childhood drawings, this project was not constructed. However, the client was so impressed with the creativeness, practicality, and detail, I was given the opportunity to design their next custom home. I never looked back and have been designing custom homes in my free time ever since. I take pride in creating intentional spaces and adjacencies that balances a client's needs. My favorite aspect of design is meeting new clients, learning their style, and imagining how they intend to use various spaces in their home.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife, kids, and family. I enjoy coaching and watching my kids play sports. And while I struggle at it, I thoroughly enjoy playing golf. I'm much better at watching the waves at the beach (and designing homes!).
